Jonathan Price was an American black man, athlete, bodybuilder, personal trainer, and the hero of his community. His death created widespread chaos as he was shot by a White Texas Police officer Shaun David Lucas.

This incident is currently investigating by the Texas Rangers with the cooperation of the Wolfe City Police Department and the Hunt Country District Attorney’s Police.

On 3rd October 2020, the American officer received a disturbance call at the 100 block of Santa Fe Street for an ongoing dispute. As soon as he reached the Kwik Cheek gas station in Wolfe City, he encountered Jonathan who got involved in a fight with a man and a woman.

While the officer tried to hold him up, he resisted in an unthreatened gesture and starting walking away. After this, Lucas took out his weapon and shot him to death.

The Rangers found this action “not objectionably responsible”. Therefore, they arrested David under the charges of murder and locked him up in Hunt Country Jail and shifted to Rockwall Country Jail. His bail was set for $1 million.

According to a statement released by the Rangers, On Saturday night of 3rd October 2020, he was gunned by a Texas Police officer and lost his life while taken to the hospital.

Since then, the athlete’s family is devastated and is doing everything to provide justice to their late beloved son. Even the entire Texas City is shocked by this incident and its citizens are filled with anger and rage against this cruelty of the police officer. They are conducting rallies and are doing candle March to show their support towards their community hero.

Price’s family with the help of their civil rights lawyer Dallas Attorney Lee Merritt took to his social media handle about the detailed clarification in this matter.

They stated that when Jonathon saw a man hitting a woman at the gas station, he went to protect the lady and tried to solve the dispute between the two.

When the dispute was almost about to be solved, the police officers arrived. Price raised his hands in an attempt to dictate the whole scenario to them but they didn’t listenandLucos fired tasers at him. When his body convulsed from the electric current, he realized a threat and shot him, leaving him lifeless.

After this incident, the first responders took the hometown hero to Hunt Regional Hospital in a hope that he might come back to life but he couldn’t be saved and left the world.

On 5th February 2020, lawyer Merritt and his relatives came together in the site of this incident and called out to Hunt Country District Attorney to issue an arrest warrant for the officer who shot Price, to fight against this unfairness.
